Summary: not great work, owner didn't seem to care about end result. I hired Traditional Hardwood Floors to fix several small scratches/gouges in our kitchen floor. They didn't communicate the scope of the work very well; I thought they could just patch the scratches in a couple hours, but they ended up completely sanding down several boards and re-staining them. The work ended up taking 5 or 6 working days (mostly because our floor is apparently very hard to work with). Luckily I work from home, so this didn't matter, but I would be very upset if I'd taken off work expecting a one day job and had to miss a week of work due to poor communication. Our technician never arrived earlier than ~10:30AM, and on two or three days he stayed until after 5:00PM. There were two large areas that were sanded down and re-stained. For one area, they were able to match the color of the surrounding floor pretty well; no complaints. For the other area, the refinished boards are colored noticeably differently than the surrounding floor. Our technician said he tried his best, but we weren't happy with the results. I called the owner Gary Haislet to express my frustration with the process, and he didn't apologize or seem to care that the work wasn't done well. He pointed out that in the work order I signed, it says that the color of refinished floor may be different than it was originally. I totally understand that, but I am still very disappointed that he didn't see fit to at least apologize, or more appropriately offer some kind of solution. I felt like they didn't care how the result turned out, as long as they could cover their butts. While to them, this was just another job, to me it's my home and I'd expect contractors to understand that.

Out of 3 businesses we received quotes from they were the only company who would refinish our staircase. Their pricing was competitive, they completed the floors in a few days plus dry time, cleaned up after themselves and were on time each morning to start their work. If you can request Poe and his partner. They were super nice and very talented.

Gary and Dave were very easy to deal with, pricing was fair, and the work was excellent. Our floors were in bad shape. Original pine boards in a 120 year old house. They look magnificent now. Beautiful warm amber color and easy to care for satin oil poly coat.

We installed, sanded, stained, and finished with a UV latex finish. So the customer can move in the same day.
